LONDON - Hollywood actor Michael Douglas’ health has started to trigger concern among his fans, amid reports that his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones flew back to the US from Wales after receiving a call from the actor’s doctor.

Zeta-Jones jetted back to New York after visiting the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament, but was emotional on her arrival in the US, contactmusic.com reports.

Douglas, 66, is currently battling throat cancer and has been getting chemotherapy treatment.

“You just never think it is going to be you. But I’ll beat this. The tumour is shrinking. The odds are good. I’m not dealing with mortality issues until I hear otherwise,” said Douglas earlier.

Despite his illness, Douglas has been actively promoting his new movie, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, which went in at number-one at the box office last weekend, making more than $35 million in the US alone.
