Outrage over Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame commences

October 1, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): In the latest Rock and Roll hall Of Fame news, singer/songwriter Neil Diamond has been confirmed for the induction. However the same cannot be said about hugely popular rock band Bon Jovi. Tom waits would also probably be inducted. This Tuesday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame made an announcement to be inducted in their batch of 2011. Outrage was sparked real soon as Rush weren’t nominated.

Neil Diamond and Bon Jovi head the nominations list that has 15 other names including the likes of Alice Cooper, J. Geils Band, the Beastie Boys, , LL Cool J, Chic, Donovan, Dr. John,Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, Donna Summer and Chuck Willis.

Artists like Journey, Duran Duran, Kiss, Heart and Chicago were snubbed.

The names of the Rock and Roll Hall inductees would be announced in the month of December. It would be announced after the 26th annual induction proceedings rage ahead on the 14th of March in New York’s famous Waldorf-Astoria. Neil Diamond would be performing some of his hits on that day, as would Tom Waits. He is supposedly, an intimate acquaintance of the Rolling Stone head honcho Jann Wenner and he is also close to the voting board of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

It is said that more than 500 people from the music business vote for the nominees of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame each year.
