LOS ANGELES, (GaeaTimes.com)- Artie Lange, the well known comedian gave his triumphant come back in Howard Stern’s Comedy Cellar, almost eight months after his suicide attempt in January. The comedian, who was fighting heroine addiction and other personal problems, tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself nine times in his apartment. His mother fortunately reached there at the eleventh our to take him to the hospital, where he was given a rigorous medical treatment and psycho therapy and probably the narrowest escape of his life.

Artie Lange, after his treatment, wanted to resume his normal life as a stand up comedian and therefore called up the show’s producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate, to tell that he wanted to be back to the show and share his experiences and up-downs. The crew members were not very keen on bringing him back to the show, considering his turbulent mental state at that point of time. Yet, despite some hesitations, Howard Stern, Sidekick Robin Quivers and some other crew members decided to give Artie Lange a fine chance to perform in the two midnight episodes of Friday and Saturday.

Artie Lange’s appearance in the show came much like a surprise, and to everyones astonishment, Artie Lange gave a very worthy performance, earning himself a prolonged ovation. The warm welcome that he received, almost brought tears to his eyes and gave new hopes to lead a healthier life once again. He thanked everyone for giving him the kind of support he was seeking for. Although the producers of the show was initially not very keen on signing Artie Lange again, they are now comfortable with his regular appearances as it has been proved that he is now physically and mentally fit, to be on the stage more frequently.
