British singer DON PARTRIDGE has died of a suspected heart attack, aged 68.

The musician passed away near his home in Peacehaven, England on Tuesday (21Sep10).

Affectionately known as the king of the buskers, the songwriter began his career travelling around Europe with his guitar to sing on street corners.

He achieved chart success in 1968 when his self-written single Rosie reached number four in the U.K. singles chart, while the follow-up, Blue Eyes, peaked at number three.

Partridge’s final chart hit, Breakfast On Pluto, came a year later (69) but he continued to perform, most notably recording the album The Highwayman in 2004 with Herbie Flowers, Nick Pynn and Richard Durrant.
