D’onofrio To Return To Law & Order For Final Season

VINCENT D’ONOFRIO is returning to the U.S. TV cop show he quit in 2009 for a planned final season.

The Full Metal Jacket star will return as Detective Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent’s 10th season.

D’Onofrio played Goren in 130 episodes between 2001 and 2009, and was replaced on the show by Jeff Goldblum.

In parting, the actor assured fans his character would not be killed off, stating, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Goren pops up from time to time.”

The new series of eight episodes will begin next year (11), according to USA Network bosses, and the show is expected to wrap after they air.
