WASHINGTON - It seems pop sensation Lady Gaga is in all support of the homosexuals as she has taken to YouTube to get “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repealed.

The latest effort by the pop princess is a seven-minute YouTube video in which she singles out Senators John McCain, R-Ariz., Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., James Inhofe, R-Okla., and Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., by demanding they withdraw the divisive policy.

The law, put in place during the Clinton administration, restricts the United States military from efforts to discover or reveal closeted gay, lesbian, and bisexual service members or applicants, and prohibits those who are openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual individuals from enrolling.

The New York native states that closeted members of the military are not only having to live in secrecy, but also being unfairly treated by the U.S. government

“SLDN’s advocacy proves that these soldiers are being searched, superiors are going thru their emails and private belongings and calling family members and operating based on assumptions, ultimately the law is being enforced using gay profiling,” Fox News quoted her as saying.

Gaga is releasing the video message to the public, in hopes that members of the Senate will see it as they prepare to take up the Defense Authorization Bill next week, the same bill that will repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell if passed after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tacked it onto the bill.

Though the overall tone of the YouTube clip is one of unity and equality, the singer blasted Arizona Senator John McCain for what she called his “shameless filibuster.”

McCain’s spokesman has previously defended his stance, explaining that he “strongly believes in the importance of completing the comprehensive review of the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law prior to taking any legislative action to repeal the policy.” (ANI)
