Rap mogul JERMAINE DUPRI has joined forces with TLC star ROZANDA ‘CHILLI’ THOMAS and R&B singer BOBBY VALENTINO to help raise money for a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The hip-hop stars are among a number of local celebrities who have thrown their support behind the Give To Grady campaign, which aims to collect $100,000 (£66,670) for Atlanta’s top trauma centre at Grady Hospital.

Dupri, Thomas and Valentino, along with rapper Shawty Lo, DJ Drama and singer-turned-reality TV star Kandi Burruss, will begin raising awareness about the cause on Friday (10Sep10), by posting mass messages on social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook to encourage fans to make $5 (£3.30) donations to Grady Hospital.

Lisa Borders, president of Grady Health Foundation, says, “We are extraordinarily excited that Atlanta’s entertainment community will join Grady in what may be the only grassroots fund-raising campaign of this kind in the country.

“Public hospitals are woven into the fabric of our communities and yet rarely does the community come together in this way to support our important work. Atlanta is a special place, with special people who are genuinely concerned about each other and the city.”

The campaign will continue until the end of December (10), reports AllHipHop.com.
