LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — Action figures are not a new thing in toy business. And there is little sign that this trend of making toys out of action figures is going to slow down any soon. Optimus Prime toys and other items along those lines, have persisted to stay a staple in the toy boxes and Christmas dream lists of little boys since the early 80s. One could say that the prosperity of Transformers may be tracked through the evolution of the franchise’s most famous personality, Optimus Prime.

The original Optimus Prime action figures incorporated its very own trailer to hitch onto it, anytime Prime was in his “Truck mode”. Casual enthusiasts might not be aware that the initial title for the Prime toy was “battle convoy“, but finally the name was changed by comic book writer/editor Dennis O’Neil. The standard was now set for the subsequent collection of Prime figures.

Transformers began to change through the 90s following a decade-long run at the head of the group. Several included add-ons like battle platforms and other bells and whistles. One model of Prime in 1993 included an LED pulsating fist.

Michael Bay’s reinvention of the Transformers series in 2007 showed additional Autobots (Good Transformers) developed into the newest versions of SUV’s. But Bay’s Prime kept his big rig transforming same at it’s been since the 80s, albeit with the latest CGI special effects.

In 1984, when Transformers was aired for the first time, who knew that we would be still busy talking about giant robots that can convert into vehicles and aircrafts to save the earth? What started out as a Saturday morning children cartoon turned out to be a multi million dollar project over the decades. And, being the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime has always been the most famous Transformers of all time.

So remember, if you are searching for an ideal gift for your children this Christmas, Optimus Prime is always there to help you out!
