LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Celebrated actress Emma Thompson who is known to have been associated with a number of highly acclaimed films in her illustrious career, added a new feather to her cap on Friday when she was enshrined in concrete at the Hollywood Boulevard. The distinguished actress and screen writer was conferred with the 2,416th star on Hollywood’s “Walk of Fame” yesterday in a ceremony that was held in front of the Pig ‘n’ Whistle pub.

The much-coveted honor was given to Emma Thompson just about two weeks prior to the release of her latest Susanna White-directed flick “Nanny McPhee Returns,” which is scheduled to hit theaters on August 20. Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal who is one of her cast-mates in the upcoming film attended the mid-day ceremony along with actor Hugh Laurie of the “House” fame. Apart from the celebrities who graced the event, a baby pig also made its presence felt when it posed with the “Love Actually” star as the cameras went on clicking. Emma Thompson, who was visibly delighted while being recognized on Hollywood Boulevard could not stop smiling when she received her award amidst huge cheering from the fans.

While reacting to the honor that she had been rewarded with, Emma Thompson recalled the days when she used to visit the Walk of Fame along with her father in the 1970’s and used to be fascinated by all the stars in the pavement. So, it hardly comes as a surprise that having her very own star in Hollywood’s Walk of Fame years later is indeed a special achievement for the noted actress.
