NEW DELHI - From wedding trousseaux to honeymoon destinations and wedding cards to caterers — “Celebrating Vivaha 2010″, the ongoing annual wedding exhibition in the capital, virtually presents the wedding buffet under one roof.
With just two months left for the peak wedding season to begin, the three-day exhibition kicked-off Friday at Hotel Ashok in Chanakyapuri.
The wedding extravaganza brings together the latest from the world of weddings and fashion under one roof, giving brides and grooms-to-be a platform to plan their wedding in advance.
The exhibition has been organised by Vintage Events.
“We have been organising the exhibition for the past nine years and the response has been great so far. People now look forward to Vivaha exhibition, the proof of this is that the first day of the extravaganza has been a full house,” Ratika Seth, Vintage Events’ media communication head, told IANS.
“We have always tried to introduce something new and something different every year. Unlike other editions, this year, there is a stall put up by Clinique (US manufacturer of skin care products) and next year as we organise our 10th edition, we plan to bring products of international brands like M.A.C cosmetics and Estee Lauder,” she added.
The exhibition brings together a variety of wedding attires, home accessories, wedding planners, designer bags, party wear footwears, gift items, traditional and diamond jewellery, choice of honeymoon destinations, caterers, wedding cards, wedding venues and possibly everything associated with the word wedding.
“The best thing about this exhibition is that everything in under one roof, one doesn’t have to jump from one shop to another,” said Radhika Sharma, a visitor.
“Marriages have become grand affairs now and people are ready to spend as much money as they can to make their son or daughter’s wedding special. And what can be a better place than this which has the best options under one roof,” said wedding planner Charan Singh from MB events.
