Dan Resin Dies At 79

WAYNE, (GaeaTimes.com)- Dan Resin, the American stage and screen actor best known for his role as Dr. Beeper in the comedy film “Caddyshack” breathed his last on Saturday, July 31 and left his friends and family mourning. The actor was 79 years old. The family of Dan Resin released a statement to the media after he passed away confirming the cause of his death.

Dan Resin’s daughter Elizabeth Olynick said that the actor was fighting against Parkinson’s disease and ultimately he lost the battle on Saturday. However, the media could not report f he died at his home or hospital. The friends and family of the actor were shocked to hear news as Dan Resin was an active member of Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York City and he used to raise money for Parkinson’s disease research. Dan Resin is survived by his wife Margaret, 55, three daughters, Elizabeth Olynick, Alexandra Carnevale and Maryanne Post, a brother, two sisters and five grandchildren. His co-stars in his films and commercials expressed their condolence after the sad demise of the “Richard” actor.

Dan Resin received his recognition as the well instructed Ty-D-bol Man in a television commercial where he wore white pants and captain’s blazer and spoke his famous line “Introducing new improved Ty-D-bol” which became his trademark later. The actor has acted in many Broadway projects like “My Fair Lady”, “Once Upon A Mattress”, “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” and “Don’t Drink Water”. Dan Resin semi-retired from acting in late 1990’s after which he became an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion in the Catholic Church. The family of the actor said in their statement that the funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus.
