Fox launches new country music awards show

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — There are the CMAs, the ACMs and the CMTs, and come December, country music will have a new awards show: the ACAs.

The first-ever American Country Awards will be fan-voted and air live on Fox Dec. 6 from Las Vegas.

The year’s top artists will perform and make appearances throughout the two-hour special.

ACA executive producer Bob Bain says in a statement that the awards will highlight country music’s diversity, as seen in crossover stars like Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellum and will also honor country music legends.

Fans will pick the winners in categories that include artist of the year, album of the year, touring artist of the year, single of the year and music video by a breakthrough artist.

The CMT Awards are also fan-voted.
