ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Culture Minister Aftab Shah Jilani has said that the government is eyeing a possible ban on Indian films in theatres for the upcoming Eidul Fitr in order to encourage the struggling local industry.

“We want to benefit our industry and facilitate Pakistani producers by temporarily banning Indian movies at Eid,” The Daily Times quoted Jilani, as saying.

He said that any decision would be taken after further discussions within the government.

The minister said that local film-makers had complained that the Bollywood films were being shown at the expense of the struggling local industry. (ANI)
