LONDON - American actress Jane Fonda is reliving her days as a peace protester as she plays a hippie granny in her new movie.

The movie ‘Peace, Love, Misunderstanding’ has 72-year-old Fonda as an old hippie who meets her grandchildren for the first time when their mother, a neurotic New York City lawyer, brings them to Woodstock to meet her.

Fleeing a probable divorce, the daughter is plunged into her mother’s motley crew of free thinkers.

Fonda was a veteran anti-war activist in real life. She flew to Vietnam to speak out against American involvement in the 70s.

Nicknamed ‘Hanoi Jane,’ she visited the Truong Dinh residential centre in the Nai Ba Trung District in Hanoi in North Vietnam in 1972, reports The Telegraph.

She also spoke out against the Vietnam War and President Nixon at a rally near the Republican National Convention in Miami Beach, Florida in the same year. (ANI)
