Blue Crush Sequel: Production Underway

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The second installment of the 2002 surfing film ‘Blue Crush‘ has been announced and the film is set to release in Spring 2011 on Blue-Ray and DVD. It will be distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film is presently being shot on the picturesque beaches of South Africa and will star Sasha Jackson in the lead role.

In the latest ‘Blue Crush‘ installment, Sasha Jackson will play the character of Dana who is pressurized by her father to go to college. Being an ace surfer and a rebellious first year student, she leaves her home in Beverly Hills and heads for the beaches of South Africa in an adventure that sees her fulfilling her late mother’s dreams. Her journey through South African waves becomes a journey of self-discovery and heart warming friendship. The film promises to be a treat for the audience with its picture perfect beaches and beautiful women sporting bikinis and swimwear. South Africa is known for its bone crushing waves and the beaches will be a perfect host for the hot women to go on the surfing adventure. Reports suggest that the film will also see cameos from some of the best women surfers in the world from the Roxy team that includes the likes of Sally Fitzgibbons.

The last installment of ‘Blue Crush‘ was released in 2002 and starred Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez. The film was shot primarily on the island of Oahu and also featured some cameos of well known real life surfers of the time. The fans of the surfing movie are now highly anticipating its next installment after 9 years.
