SHIMLA - To lure tourists during the monsoon season, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced 10-35 percent discount in its hotels across the state.

“We are offering discounts in all the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotels from July 12 to Sept 14,” HPTDC Managing Director Subhasish Panda told IANS Sunday.

He said the discount would vary from 10 percent to 35 percent, depending on the location of the hotel.

The HPTDC has 57 economy and high-end hotels across the state with 1,070 rooms having a 2,320 bed capacity. It is also running 60 restaurants and cafes.

Himachal Pradesh, known for its picturesque tourist spots, attracted 11,437,155 tourists, including 400,583 foreigners, last year.
