LONDON - Singer Lily Allen has confirmed reports she’s writing the score for the new “Bridget Jones’s Diary” musical and insists she’s honoured to be “recognised as a songwriter”.

The “Smile” hitmaker has had 10 of her own songs picked for the production, based on the Renee Zellweger comedy and Allen is delighted her musical creations are being recognised, reports mirror.co.uk.

“Everyone thinks it’s just one or two songs. But I’ve now had 10 accepted and they look to be making the final cut for the show,” she said.

“I’m hugely proud of this and it’s something I’ve worked really b**ody hard on. The money would be great but it’s being recognised as a songwriter and lyricist that truly excites me,” she added.

The stage show is slated to open next year.
