MUMBAI - Actor John Abraham, who shares a great rapport with newly-married Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, wished him on his 29th birthday Wednesday.

“I wish Dhoni a very happy birthday. He is a very good boy and I think he is a great captain, the best captain India has. I wish him all the best,” John told reporters here.

John and his girlfriend, actress Bipasha Basu, are close friends of Dhoni, who Sunday tied the knot with Sakshi Rawat at a very private affair on the outskirts of Dehradun, a day after the couple’s hush-hush engagement.

John denied reports that he and Bipasha are hosting a party for Dhoni and his wife in his penthouse. “No, no party happening at my place here,” he said.

John believes that his forthcoming film “Aashayein”, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor would be a good treat over any big budget film.

“’Aashayein’ will release soon and I am very excited about it. From the big budget films, it’s nice that people get to see a small, credible, beautiful Nagesh Kukunoor film.

Unlike his girlfriend, he prefers not to be on Twitter or any such public site.

“No, I am not on Twitter. I don’t know whether I will join Twitter or not. I am not on facebook and orkut as well. At this point of time, it’s not important that I tell people whether I go to toilet or come out. There is a sense of exclusivity that I want to maintain,” the actor said.

The football lover that he is, John might not be able to make it to FIFA World Cup final, but he is hoping for a Spain victory.

“I am shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Saatha Khoon Maaf”, so I will remain here. Till now, my predictions have been pretty much accurate. I really want Spain to win the Cup,” said John.
