The revamped MELROSE PLACE has lost its place on American TV - the show has been axed.

Bosses at the CW Network have confirmed the soap will not be part of the channel’s 2010-2011 season, while Superman drama Smallville will come to an end with its tenth season later this year (10).

Long-running One Tree Hill has been picked up for an eighth season and another revamp, 90210, will return.

New dramas on the network include Aly & AJ star Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale’s new cheerleader drama Hellcats and Nikita, starring martial arts expert Maggie Q as an assassin.
