LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The comedy film “The Hangover,” which gained huge returns in terms of box office success but failed to earn much of a critical acclaim, can now get into the league of those films which are considered for the awards. For so long, the wildly popular film had not been touched by any of the award ceremonies, giving way to the other films like “The Hurt Locker” and ‘The Blind Side”, and “Avatar’ of course. However, the tables seem to have been turned by the producers of the MTV Movie Awards, who have given “The Hangover” six nominations. The film is going to compete with biggies like “Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince” and also Alice In Wonderland. The film has been chosen in the category of the best film.

By being nominated in the category of the best film, “The Hangover” manages to elbow out of the way big films like “Twilight’ and “Avatar,” both of which has not received as many nods as The Hangover, which has received five nods in all. In fact, the nomination of The Hangover is not the only one that is being taken as a rather surprise nomination. Kristen Stewart, the female protagonist of the Twilight series, has been nominated for the best actress category, along side the likes of veterans like Sandra Bullock.

Moreover, besides “The Hangover,” the categories also boasts the names of all those who would not gave otherwise made it to the list. The list also boasts the names of the likes of Robert Pattinson, Zac Effron and Daniel Radcliffe, for the category of the best actor. Moreover, there is also the surprise inclusion of Betty White, strange since the awards are generally youth dominated.
