Glee Star Lynch Urges Chicago Mayor To Get Serious About Pet Overpopulation

Animal-loving GLEE star JANE LYNCH has penned an open letter to the mayor of her native Chicago, Illinois, urging him to take control of the city’s growing pet overpopulation problem.
The actress has teamed with PETA activists in a bid to prompt Mayor Richard M. Daley to support a new law that would require dogs and cats in Chicago to be spayed or neutered.
PETA bosses have targeted Chicago as one of America’s pet problem capitals, alongside Houston, Denver, New York, and Lynch’s current hometown, Los Angeles.
Lynch says, “I want to talk about the four million dogs and cats who are euthanized every year because there aren’t enough homes for all of them.”
Explaining her love for animals, Lynch adds, “Having dogs and cats who I love so thoroughly has made me a better partner, has made me a better friend, and the love is so unconditional from the animals. You start to transfer that to human beings. I’ve just become a much better person because of my love for animals.”
Lynch joins a long list of celebrities, including Simon Cowell, Patricia Arquette, and Mickey Rourke, who have partnered with PETA to encourage spaying and neutering in order to curb the animal overpopulation crisis.
