BANGALORE - Naseeruddin Shah, who was admitted to a hospital here after he complained of giddiness, was discharged Wednesday after he showed signs of improvement, doctor said.

“Shah was discharged from the hospital,” H. Sudarshan Ballal, medical director of Manipal Hospital, told a TV channel.

Naseer was here to shoot “Saat Khoon Maaf” at Madikeri, about 240 km from Bangalore. When the actor complained of giddiness, producer-director Vishal Bharadwaj immediately arranged for a helicopter to take him to Bangalore for treatment.

Earlier, Ballal had claimed that the actor had walked out of the hospital without informing them.

“The actor was admitted to the hospital at around 8.00 p.m. on Tuesday and was treated for giddiness. He had specifically made a request that he was not to be disturbed and visitors should not be allowed into his room. We had acted accordingly,” Ballal said.

“But today we have found that he has left the hospital. One thing is that he had shown tremendous improvement in his health condition after the treatment,” he added.

Naseer’s sudden disappearance has surprised the hospital staff. Sources said that the doctors attending upon Naseer were in a meeting when he walked out of the hospital.
