Will Smith set for ‘Men in Black 3′

LOS ANGELES - “Men in Black 3″ has got a green light from Columbia Pictures and Will Smith will reprise his role as alien-chasing government operative Agent Jay.

Aceshowbiz.com reports Barry Sonnenfeld is finalised to direct the sci-fi flick. The studio has also fixed the film’s release date - it will hit theatres in the US May 25, 2012.

Smith will be joined by Tommy Lee Jones who featured in “Men in Black” and “Men in Black II”. Jones, who played Agent Kay, is currently negotiating his contract with the studio. Also Josh Brolin is expected to star as a younger version of Agent K.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing the upcoming flick. Etan Cohen and David Koepp are teaming up to write the script, which will feature a time travel element that moves the action from contemporary back to 1969.
