May 5, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Rocker and reality TV star Bret Michaels, who was in hospital after suffering brain hemorrhage, has been discharged and is expected to recover completely. The 47 year old singer has been released from the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix and is being kept at a private location for further observation.
Dr. Joseph M. Zabramski of Phoenix Hospital said that Bret is walking and talking very well and is mentally aware of everything that’s going on.
He added that it will be seven to ten days before Michaels resumes normal activities and a minimum of 4-6 weeks for complete recovery.
Though Michaels’ condition is improving, the doctors fear the pain of the blood clot as it begins to clear in the brain and the spine. Generally steroids are used to prevent this but it cannot be used in Michaels’ case, as he suffers from diabetes.
Dr. Zabramski said that, Michael is lucky to have fought subarachnoid hemorrhages and recover so swiftly.
Michaels was admitted in hospital after he repeatedly complained about terrible headache. Doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem when he was admitted to the hospital.
