Folk Singer Reed Dies

Folk star SUSAN REED has died. She was 84.

The singer passed away of natural causes at a nursing home in Greenport, New York on Sunday (25Apr10), her publicist tells the Associated Press.

Reed was best known for her career in music, performing regularly at New York’s Carnegie Hall and at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, but also appeared on the big screen in 1948’s Glamour Girl.

She also took a role on Broadway in Billy the Kid.

The star is survived by a son.
