MADRID - Spanish Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas will have his own motorcycle team competing in the new Moto2 intermediate class of the upcoming world championship in Qatar, press reports said Tuesday.

Banderas, 49, presented his Jack&Jones team in Madrid Monday.

The actor, who owns five motorcycles, has hired Spaniard Joan Olive and US racer Kenny Noyes to pilot the team.

“I wanted to enter the world of sports and when this project was presented to me, it fascinated me. Motorbikes are part of my life,” the daily El Mundo quoted Banderas as saying.

The world championship begins April 11.
