LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — To the recent trend of 3D releases, a new addition is “How to Train Your Dragon”. It comes from the same studio, that brought you “Shrek,” “Madagascar” and “Kung Fu Panda”. The story is based on the book written by Cressida Cowell. The movie features a mythical world of tribe Vikings and ferocious dragons.

You might find the trailer kiddish, but its enjoyable. Let me come to the main story. A teen Viking boy named Hiccup lives on the island of Berk, where people has to fight wild dragons to survive. Hiccup is smart, clever and possesses an offbeat sense of humor that makes him different from others. But Hiccup’s unique spirit is not at all appreciated by his father, who is also his tribe’s chief.

Hiccup doesn’t exactly fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. The turning point in Hiccup’s life comes, when he befriends an injured dragon and secretly trains him as a kind of pet. This changes the entire world of Hiccup and his fellow Vikings, who get a chance to see the world from an entirely different angle.

Jay Baruchel has contributed to the voice over of Hiccup and Gerard Butler has provided the voice of Viking chief Stoick.

How to Train Your Dragon hit the theater on March 26, 2010. It got several acclamation from critics. Linda Barnard in the Toronto Star writes that the scenes in which the boy and his dragon take to the air

are pure, heart-stopping magic and two epic battles add a dose of action that will engage adults and older kids.

While Betsy Sharkey in the Los Angeles Times writes that the action scenes in How to Train Your Dragon will keep

the adrenaline pumping and the kids squealing.

This movie will surely enchant your children. They will love to watch the giant creature on a three-dimensional screen. And if you are a bit passionate about 3D after experiencing two massive hits (Avatar and Alice in Wonderland) in recent times, you should take the chance.

Here is the trailer of “How to Train Your Dragon”. Enjoy!
