Alice in Wonderland flick gets PG rating

MELBOURNE - The new Alice in Wonderland flick may only be available to Aussie youngsters above the age of 15 after it was given a PG rating.
Helmer Tim Burton has given the movie a dark twist and the Government’s Classification Board has issued a caution to parents because of “scary scenes and fantasy violence” in the film, reports News.com.au.
Movie bosses believe the flick may contain material that children find “confusing and upsetting”.
The movie starts where Lewis Carroll’s book ended.
Australian Mia Wasikowska steps into shoes of Alice, who is 19 when she returns to Wonderland.
Alice is finding it difficult to fit into Victorian society. She escapes from a garden party minutes before a marriage proposal.
When she sees the White Rabbit, she goes down a hole and ends up in Wonderland.
Among her many adventures the teen battles a dragon, who is under the spell of the Red Queen, played by Helena Bonham Carter.
The movie stars Johnny Depp in the role of the Mad Hatter.
The film will hit cinemas Down Under on Thursday. (ANI)
