Freeman to be feted for advancing art of filmmaking

LONDON - American actor-director Morgan Freeman will be felicitated by the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) for his outstanding contribution to the films.

The veteran actor will receive the Board of Governors Award for “significant contributions to advancing the art of filmmaking” at a ceremony in Los Angeles Saturday, reports dailystar.co.uk.

“Morgan Freeman is a consummate actor and producer who devotes his considerable talent and influence to projects that make a difference, said ASC president Michael Goi.

Previous recipients of the honour include Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Gregory Peck, and Robert Altman.
