Runaway Jury: The Movie

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The movie Runaway Jury has started making news once again, after it did so in 2003, when it released. After being aired on Saturday, February 6, the movie has come up in general attention once more. For people who are still in the dark, the movie is based on Bestseller John Grisham’s novel, The Runaway Jury. Though there are a number of differences between the two, the basic plot remains quite similar. While in the novel, Celeste Wood was a boatmaker, in the movie he is a lawyer and same is the case with Frank Herrera, who plays a colonel and Staff Sergeant in the novel and movie respectively. The movie spans the drama/thriller genre and revolves around the death of a day trader. The lawyer assigned to the case is Wendell Rohr who is a man of principals. As the murder case progresses in the court the there are questions about the people (jury) involved themselves.

The movie, Runaway Jury stars America’s Sweetheart, John Cusack in the role of Nicholas Easter A.K.A Jeffery Kerr. The role of Gabrielle Marlee Brandt was performed by Rachel Weisz whereas Dustin Hoffman starred as Wendall Rohr. In the supporting caste the movie had Gene Hackman, Jeremy Piven, Bruce Davison, Bruce McGill, Nick Searcy, Lori Heuring and Nestor Serrano.

The Gross revenue that the movie Runaway Jury generated in US was around $50 millions whereas internationally it was somewhere around $18 million. The movie even received the Edgar nominations, The Golden Trailer nomination and the PFS award nomination.
