FARRAH FAWCETT and RYAN O’NEAL’s troubled son REDMOND O’NEAL is back in rehab following a month-long stint in jail on drugs charges.

O’Neal was arrested on 29 December (09) after displaying odd behaviour on a 24-hour release from a California rehab facility.

He subsequently tested positive for drugs, after being sober for six months.

The 24 year old, who has battled drug problems for years, was ordered back to Wayside Detention Center for at least 30 days to focus on relapse prevention.

But at a scheduled status update on Tuesday (02Feb10), which would have been his mother’s 63rd birthday, O’Neal was allowed out of prison and back into treatment at a Pasadena clinic.

Judge Michael Tynan told him, “After residential treatment, I’m going to put you into sober living. You will be given supervised passes only.

“I hope you take advantage of this. I think you can make it. Truth and trust, you are having trouble opening up. Maybe the truth will make you free.”

O’Neal is due back in court on 3 March (10).

He was moved to rehab last year (09) to continue his fight against substance abuse, after serving time behind bars in connection to a January 2008 drug arrest and a probation violation.
