American broadcaster RUSH LIMBAUGH has been admitted to hospital after complaining of severe chest pains.

The radio personality was staying at the Kahala Hotel in Hawaii for the festive period when paramedics were called to the resort on Wednesday (31Dec09) and transported Limbaugh to the local Queens Medical Center.

The airwaves veteran is now said to be “resting comfortably” after treatment, according to a statement from his radio show.

The statement reads, “Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains. Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes and will keep you updated via rushlimbaugh.com and on his radio programme.”

Limbaugh’s three-hour weekday show is broadcast on 600 radio stations across the U.S. It has not been confirmed whether the 58 year old will return to his show on 4 January (10) as planned.
