San Francisco- ‘Dancing with the StarsWinner of 2009 has been crowned on the two-hour special finale episode that aired on Tuesday night. Donny and Kym came out with the shining trophy among a huge round of applause. The other finalists included Mya and Kelly Osbourne. While Mya became the first runner-up, Kelly came in the third place. Donny’s wife got pulled up to the stage by her husband, and Donny while enjoying his moment of glory shouted “Yeah” when announced the winner. Whitney Houston was the guest star for the show, who got the judges and the audience lost in her melodies songs. The eliminated contestants returned for the last time on the stage so as to give their own performances bidding the 9th season adieu. A very emotional moment passed in the auditorium, when there were some playbacks of the season’s special moments like the injuries suffered and the tears shed by the contestants.

During the show ‘Dancing with the Stars-2009‘, before the Winner was announced, the three contestants had to repeat any one of their performances from their earlier sessions. Donny did his tango while Mya and Kelly did their jive and waltz respectively. For these performances the three contestants were given rankings, with the third place (equal to 26 points) going to Kelly, second (28 points) to Mya and first (30 points) to Donny.

Dancing with the stars’ wrapped up the 9th season (2009) and the winner - Donny was the anticipated win by many. Mya said that even though she didn’t win, the contest itself was a lot of fun and that she enjoyed herself immensely. She also added that it was a pleasure to have reached the finals. Kelly, the second runner up also said that the experience had been wonderful for her and she went on to thank the viewers for making it special for her. “It’s because of you that I’ve grown so much”, she added.
