With the Halloween just around the corner on 31st October, ideas and trends for costumes and pumpkins have become the top searches for people. All across the Halloween celebrators, movies, music, books, TV series, have become just another source of getting ideas for there costumes and there celebrations. Leading the way among the movie inspirations, is the 1993 released Walt Disney movie ‘Hocus-Pocus‘. The movie has Bette Midler (Winifred Winnie Sanderson), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah Sanderson), Kathy Najimy (Mary Sanderson), Omri Katz (Max Dennison), Thora Birch (Dani), Vinessa Shaw (Allison) and Amanda Shepherd (Emily Binx).

Hocus Pocus” was directed by Kenny Ortega and was released in July 1993 in the countries Us and Canada. However it was then released in most parts of Europe, some parts of Asia and Australia. The movie received good reviews and did quite well with the kids. With witches, wizards and vampires making a comeback this year, “Hocus Pocus” is crawling the popularity charts.

It may not be of much consideration for the elders though. For them its all about impersonating famous TV celebs like Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Kate Gosselin etc. For the women another choice this year is the costume of a policewoman, which exudes the ultimate power. Leading the way is also pirates costume. For celebs too this is the time to become somebody else. Lindsay Lohan last year opted becoming Palin, whereas Hilton was seen playing cop and Spears became a ‘hot pink cat’.

The whole Halloween week will see a number of activities which is not meant for the faint hearted. In CA, the main events include, ‘pet costume parade’, ‘mad spooky haunted house’,'Halloween family carnival’, ‘Halloween costume dinner dance’ etc. Lots of ideas to be lifted from “Hocus Pocus” most certainly.
