Captain Lou Albano Dead

captain-lou-albanoCaptain Lou Albano (original name Louis Vincent Albano) was perhaps best known for his association with pop singer Cyndi Lauper, died Wednesday aged 76 according to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Captain Lou Albano recently released his autobiography with a foreword by Cyndi Lauper.

Captain Lou Albano started as a tag team wrestler in the 1950s but became a successful manager of champion wrestlers in the 1970s, according to a biography on the WWE Web site. Captain Lou Albano was the manager of many unique tag team champions including the Masked Executioners, the Mongols, the Yukon Lumberjacks etc. He is also a WWE Hall of Famer.

He had the distinction of “one of the most hated men” in wrestling for 15 years, according to WWE biography.

On Monday, his family informed Miami Herald that we was admitted to hospital. However they did not talk about his exact illness.
Note: In 2005 he had an heart-attack.

Captain Lou Albano acted in several episodes of Miami Vice, teamed with Cyndi Lauper for several music videos. He was also the voice of Mario for 17 episodes of “The Super Mario Bros. Super Show”.
