Phish bass player meets Wis. man with same name

MADISON, Wis. — Phish bass player Mike Gordon, meet Madison real estate agent Mike Gordon.

The rock ‘n’ roll bass playing Gordon has known about the real-estate-selling double ever since he tried to secure the Web site address mikegordon.com about five years ago. It was already taken, by the real estate agent, way back in 1994.

So Phish’s Gordon settled on mike-hyphen-gordon.com.

The two met for the first time Saturday in Madison at a concert by the Phish bassist’s other band.

Mike Gordon told the crowd his Madison counterpart is also a bass player and used to be in a Doobie Brothers cover band.

The concert concluded with a cover version of the Doobie Brothers song “Taking it to the Streets.”
