Top Bollywood stars steal show of Lakme fashion week.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone raised the glamour quotient and actor Sushmita Sen in heavy bridal wear walked the ramp on fourth day of Lakme Fashion Week in India’s western Mumbai city.

STORY: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone raised the glamour quotient and actor Sushmita Sen in heavy bridal wear dress walked the ramp at Lakme fashion Week in India’s western Mumbai city on Monday (September 21).
Padukone, 23, has been showstopper twice for several designers in major Indian Fashion weeks. Padukone walked the ramp in black and white colour gown for sister designer duo Gauri and Nainika on the fourth day of LFW.
The theme of the collection was love and romance and designers colour palette had red, black and white.
“Whenever people ask me about my fashion sense or what I like wearing. I have always said that I always like very simple, classic and elegant. I think that’s what their clothes are. You might see different range every time they do a fashion week. But the basic look and inspiration has never changed. I have always been a huge fans of theirs,” said Padukone.
The designer presented a very classic line with simple and clean cuts. The catching part of the collection was detailing given to each outfit making roses a prominent feature. The designer had specially incorporated series of red pieces inspired by the bold, ‘La Beaut‚ Rouge’ martini, for Grey Goose.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen dazzled the ramp in exquisite bridal wear with teamed up with heavy jewellery for designer Vikram Phadnis.
“The good thing about this outfit and the entire Vikram Phadnis collection is that the Indian, ethnic yet contemporary has been mixed beautifully. He has done some fabulous work. I was watching throughout. There are things that I can pick up and wear immediately,” said Sen.
Phadnis showcased the collection contemporary bride with surface orientations catching the eye in most of the outfits. A wide range of colours, some subtle and some bright made the colour palette of the designer.
Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 will host about fifty designers who would be showcasing their collection in the five-day event.
Designer Tarun Tahiliani would present his creations to ring the ‘curtains down’ to this famed event on Tuesday (September 22).
