“America’s Got Talent” winner has exhaustion

ST. LOUIS — The 2008 winner of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” is pledging to take better care of himself after a brief hospital stay for exhaustion.

Neal E. Boyd, 33, is a Sikeston, Mo., native who now lives in suburban St. Louis. He experienced shortness of breath and a fever on Wednesday after returning from Las Vegas, where he performed two days earlier on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. He checked himself into St. Luke’s Hospital.

His spokeswoman says doctors diagnosed exhaustion and released him on Thursday. He is resting, but does not expect to cancel upcoming appearances.

The heavyset singer whose operatic voice won the $1 million “America’s Got Talent” prize says he will take more time to take care of his health.

I’d like to know why it is necessary to comment about Neal E. Boyd’s weight in the above story. His weight doesn’t have anything whatsoever to do with his talent, or the fact that he won America’s Got Talent last year, however most people don’t seem to miss an opportunity to bring the subject of his weight up at every turn. Who cares about his weight???? It doesn’t have any bearing on the person he is inside. Why don’t people focus on the POSITIVE for a change???? This world would be a much happier & better place if that were the case.
