Hugh Hefner’s divorce is creating the latest buzz more than the current issue of his magazine Playboy. He is reported to have filed divorce from his estranged wife, Kimberley Conrad. The eighty three year old is said to have filed divorce due to irreconcilable differences with his wife who is a former Playmate.
As reported by celebrity website TMZ.com the pair were married in July 1989 and have been separated since January 1998. When interviewed Hefner expressed happiness over their marriage coming to end. It was his children thinking about whom he held onto the broken marriage. He said “I am happy to be out of the marriage. I only remained married (to Conrad) for the sake of the children, at her request. I am happy to have this behind me.” After their separation Conrad and the boys have lived in the house next to the famed Los Angeles Playboy Mansion. This was where Hefner lived with several girlfriends and stars in the TV reality show “The Girls Next Door.”
The divorce doesn’t seem to be a relief for Hugh Hefner as yet. Conrad has ordered court action against Hefner which includes a $5 million lawsuit. Hefner though has denied owing anything to his former wife. The documents extracted by TMZ.com show that Hefner has assets of more than $43 million, excluding Playboy stock and property, and spends about $43,000 a month on food and entertainment. Hefner though claims that he has already taken acre of the spousal support that Conrad will need. He has arranged for $20,000 a month and confirmed that he has already supported Conrad with $12 million since their separation 11 years ago.
Though his personal life doesn’t seem to be in shape he is still going great guns in his professional life. He remains editor-in-chief of the Playboy magazine and retains overall control of the company.
