 Q.: What’s playing on your I-pod these days?
A.: Firstly, I really don’t know what an I-pod is. Yeah, I have heard of I-tone. That too, I have heard of it, only recently. However, these days I’m listening to songs of “Pink Floyd -the Wall”. It’s one of the most successful movies in the world. It has a single song and it’s of four and half hour duration. The specialty of the song is it starts at the commencement of the movie and ends when it ends. Besides I like these songs- ‘OSO’s “Tumko paya to jaise khoya hun” and ‘Saawariya’s “Jab se tere naina”.
 While the sexy singer surely comes across as a ‘bindaas’ and honest person, does Shibani Kashyap have anything hidden in the closet? And will she reveal it all, that too on national television?

 Which are the films for which you are composing music right now?
 Something Sally’s long awaited debut album, released last year in Norway, is released in India this month - March 09. The album is titled “Familiar Strangers” and when you listen to their music, it is easy to see why. The sound of Something Sally is unlike anything you’ve heard before; it’s new yet retro, original yet strangely familiar.
 She belongs to the family who own India’s Number One Music Company, T-Series. But that is certainly not her claim to fame. Fulfilling her Father, Shri Gulshar Kumar’s dream of wanting his daughter to become a singer, Tulsi Kumar has left no stone unturned in doing just that. She says, “It was my fathers dream to see me singing. So somehow it was understood in my family that I would become a singer”.
Such things can only happen in third world countries or say developing nations( to sound less offensive).
 At 86, she was trembling with fever. She couldn’t walk without a walker and needed two people to assist her to climb on stage. But the moment Dr Soma Ghosh began to sing at the Pranganga Swarotsav Sangeet Parampara Fest than Sitara Devi the performer took charge. From the body of an 86-year-old, a 16-year-old danseuse full of energy emerged. Sitara Devi held the audiences mesmerized at Bhavan’s College, Andheri to the voice of veteran vocalist and Bismillah Khan’s only female disciple Dr Soma Ghosh’s rendition for over an hour.
 Raghav Sachchar made his debut as a music-director in Bollywood with Kabul Express in which not only his music but even the song ‘Ye Hai Kabul Fiza’ sung by him was highly appreciated. After Kabul Express and Rohit Shetty’s Sunday Raghav is all set to make a hat-trick with his upcoming film ‘On Two Three’. This is the first commercial cinema Raghav has worked on. The wiz kid started composing and arranging at the ripe age of sixteen and today, at twenty two he is almost on the threshold of releasing his first non-filmy music album Tu Hi Mere Rab Ki Tarah Hai with T Series’ Bhushan Kumar. Mithoon says, "Tu Hi Mere Rab Ki Tarah Hai is my first full fledged non-film album as a composer and singer. The album is very close to my heart and I’m happy that it is now reading the audiences, Thanks to Bhushan Kumar." Mithoon unleashed his vocal fury on the audience for the first time with ‘Mausam’ from The Train. And now, he will be treated to a whole album full of soulful tracks that are sure to go down well with the audience. Mithoon has always been crossing boundaries in quest of good music; he now has gone all the way to the United Kingdom to rope in musicians! Mithoon has worked with musicians of the famous Philharmonic Orchestra. He said, "In this album I have worked with some international musicians- Amy Dickson (Saxophone), Andy Baker, Tim Maple (Guitars), Harriet Adie (Harp), and Tim Robertson (bass). I composed parts for them and went to London to record." Well, with all that hard work gone in to make this album, this is sure going to be one album to watch out for. - SAMPURN Meet Mithoon Sharma, the singer-composer who gave the Indian youth a lot to cheer about with Woh Lamhe from Zaher and Maula Mere Maula from Anwar is all set to be back on the scene with his new album. Mithoon preferably works with Sayeed Quadri and this time, too, he has roped in the veteran lyricist to pen his songs. Tuhi Mere Rab Ki Tarha Hai is Mithoon’s debut non-film album and obviously he has a lot of hopes with it.

 Much tamasha had been happening publicly in the Sami household since the last few weeks over Adnan’s father’s visit to Mumbai for treatment as his wife filed a police complaint allegedly over his visit. Adnan’s father Arshad Sami has been suffering from cancer for a long time now and had refused to go to London for his treatment and wished to meet his grandson instead. Adnan, heeding to his ailing father’s request had asked his son to come down from Pakistan to meet his grandfather. Adnan Sami’s son Azaan flew down from Pakistan to Mumbai to visit his ailing grandfather.
 T Series and PPC’s Aashayein, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor unveiled yet another facet of actor John Abraham — that of a singer. A musical evening for the film saw John performing to the number Abhi Hai Ujala alongside Shankar Mahadevan, Zubin, Shafaquat Ali, Salim-Suleiman among others at the amphitheatre, Bandra Fort. While John admits to a "sincere effort", music director Salim avers that "John will be appreciated in the inspirational number.’ Producer Bhushan Kumar feels that "this film is an inspirational movie by Nagesh and will bring to light the true spirit. A. We have experimented with new sounds in Kyun… It is a non-fearing kind of music with hard drums, high intensity, high energy level and everything that we, Aryans, are associated with.
