MELBOURNE - Westlife member Brian McFadden’s new single ‘Just The Way You Are (Drunk at the Bar)’ has been slammed by music fans for promoting “date rape”.

The song, released February 25, has also been criticised for its lyrics, which most found to be “disgusting and wrong”, the Herald Sun reported.

In the chorus, the singer sings: “can’t wait” to take an intoxicated girl home “so I can take advantage” and “do some damage”. Ending with: “I like you just the way you are, drunk in the back seat of my car”.

The controversy comes just days after McFadden, 30, was himself accused of being drunk aboard a V Australia flight in which he was later questioned by the Australian Federal Police.

The song, which was posted on YouTube, has attracted some harsh criticism from web users. (ANI)
