NEW YORK - Christina Applegate has said that her newborn baby has helped her ‘abandon resentments’ that she has held since undergoing a double mastectomy after a breast cancer diagnosis.

The actress gave birth to daughter Sadie on Jan. 27 after 18 hours of “profound” labor pains, and found herself instantly shedding the body insecurities that had burdened since her double mastectomy in 2008.

“This part of my body is very private,” the New York Daily News quoted Applegate as telling “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” as she gestures to her chest.

The 39-year-old star said her chest is “a place I don’t have a good relationship with.”

“But at that moment of pulling her out, I just tore that [gown] off,” she said.

“And there’s a room full of people I don’t know - nurses and doctors - and she and I just laid there.

“It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Applegate added. (ANI)
