LONDON - Colin Farrell is all set to play Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in a remake of ‘Total Recall’.

The 34-year-old was rumoured to be taking over the lead role in the iconic sci-fi movie last year, but now producer Neal Moritz has confirmed the news.

Farrell was recently keeping quiet about the rumours that he is involved in the film.

Moritz confirmed to Collider.com that Farrell would be starring in the film.

“We’re doing the movie with Colin Farrell,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

The film will start shooting in Toronto on May 15 this year with Underworld director and Mr Kate Beckinsale - Len Wiseman behind the camera.

The 1990 original was directed by Paul Verhoeven and is based on cult Philip K Dick short story ‘We Can Remember It For You Wholesale’.

The movie tells the story of a man going on a virtual vacation to Mars, where an unexpected and harrowing series of events forces him to go to the planet “for real.” (ANI)
