Ja Rule Pleads Guilty

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- On Monday, American rapper Ja Rule pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, Manhattan District Attorney statement reads. The law enforcement officials said that the hip hop star might have to face 15 years in prison if he is convicted by the jury. However, the sources say that Ja Rule will have to face two years of prison sentence and he would remain free until the judge announces his sentence date.

The law enforcement officials found a loaded semi-automatic firearm at the back of his luxury car in 2007. The firearm’s serial number was scratched off and the rapper faced second degree weapon charge after his arrest. Ja Rule admitted his fault and took all the responsibility on himself. Manhattan District Attorney statement states that Ja Rule will be registered as a gun offender. After Ja Rule left the Manhattan courtroom, he said that it was not a good day for him. However, the rapper took to Twitter to mention that the whole incident is just a minor setback for his major comeback. Previously famous rapper Lil Wayne was also arrested for possessing illegal weapon.

Ja Rule told a reputed media source that he has learnt from his previous experience. However, District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said that the nation is known for some strict anti-gun laws and still there are people who spread violence and continues to plague the city. The District Attorney also said that Ja Rule’s case is a warning and lesson to everybody else who wants bring gun to New York City illegally. Ja Rule appeared on several movies like “Scary Movie 3″, “The Fast and the Furious”.
