LONDON - Gwyneth Paltrow has slammed celebrity couples for unnecessarily showing off their relationship in the limelight, which she says doesn’t ‘make sense’.

The Iron Man star is married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, but they are rarely seen out in public together and never attend showbiz events as a couple.

Paltrow, who was previously engaged to Brad Pitt and has dated Ben Affleck, is adamant there is no need for celebrity lovers to parade their partnership in public and she’s convinced stars who step out together have an unhealthy interest in self-promotion.

“When I see high-profile relationships now, I think, ‘Oh my God’ even though I’m technically in one,” the Daily Express quoted her as telling CNN.

“But we sort of don’t do anything public, we try to keep it behind the scenes as possible (sic). Because it just generates more interest… it just undermines the quality of your life.”

“It’s just unnecessary to be a public couple, and to have your couple-dom or whatever be its own entity, it doesn’t make sense to have that in the public world,” she said. (ANI)
