LONDON - Kim Kardashian’s opening of a new clothing store in New York was marred by arrests as police struggled to control hundreds of unruly fans.

The socialite launched her latest Dash clothing boutique in Manhattan with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, but the red carpet event descended into chaos as over-excited devotees outside scrambled to get a glimpse of the famous family.

A special police task force was brought in to control the crowds, and officers made numerous arrests as they attempted to calm the situation.

After the event, Kardashian took to her Twitter.com page to thank fans for turning out.

“Thank u to all of our amazing fans who came out to support Dash NYC. U really mean the world to me and my sisters! U are the reason we exist! (sic),” the Daily Star quoted her as stating. (ANI)
