Summary Box: Google TV signs up content partners

COMING TO GOOGLE TV: TBS, TNT, CNN and HBO are among the major media outlets providing special features for a Google technology that weds Web surfing with television viewing. Amazon.com Inc. and Netflix Inc. also are providing some of their most popular services.

CONSPICUOUSLY MISSING: ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox haven’t embraced Google TV yet.

THE STAKES: By making it easier to get Internet content on flat-panel TVs, Google hopes to extend its dominance of online advertising into a new medium. Google TV is expected to go on sale later this month in Best Buy’s U.S. stores.
