Gloria Stuart Dies

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The “Titanic” actress Gloria Stuart lost her battle against her respiratory problem and died at her Los Angeles home last Sunday. Her daughter Sylvia Thompson shared the news of the demise to the media. Gloria Stuart was 100 year old. Gloria Stuart was diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago and she had survived breast cancer about 20 years ago. Her daughter said that she is not sad at the demise of her mother as she led a “happy” life.

Sylvia Thompson said that Gloria Stuart did not believe in illness and paid no attention to it. She said that her mother was a strong woman and she is “happy” for her. Gloria Stuart was nominated for Academy Award for her marvelous performance in “Titanic” as 101 survivor played by Kate Winslet. The “Quills” actor said in her statement that she is saddened to hear about the loss of the remarkable woman like her. She also said that she feels “blessed” to have met her and worked with her and she will be deeply missed by everyone. The director of “Titanic”, James Cameron said that Gloria Stuart was the epitome of life and she believed in savoring every moment and celebrating it. Leonardo DiCaprio released a statement via his spokesman to express his condolence where it was maintained that Gloria Stuart was an amazingly sweet person and a fantastic actress.

The representative of the “Shutter Island” read the statement where it was also maintained that it was an honor to have shared a screen along with Gloria Stuart. “The Invisible Man” actress is survived by her daughter Sylvia Thompson, four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Leonardo DiCaprio called Gloria Stuart as an actress from the golden era of Hollywood, who will be missed by everyone.
