LONDON - British model Agyness Deyn is hoping to be mentioned in the same league as Hollywood big-guns James Dean, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, for she has joined the same institute attended by these towering figures of 20th Century film.

Agyness Deyn, who used to work in a chip shop near Manchester, has enrolled with an acting coach from Hollywood’s celebrated Lee Strasberg Institute.

The school was established in the Sixties by “method acting” pioneer Strasberg, who wanted actors to submerge themselves fully in their character.

The technique worked wonders for figures like Dean, Pacino and De Niro, who all studied under him.

Agy hopes the institute will help her move from the catwalk to the silver screen.

“Agy loves being a model but also hopes to break in to films,” the Sun quoted a pal as saying.

“She has rented an apartment in Los Angeles, near the Institute, and started taking classes.

“She wants to keep it quiet in case it doesn’t go according to plan but she’s really enjoyed herself so far,” she added.

The 27-year-old, from Rawtenstall, Lancs, has been jetting between her New York apartment and Los Angeles frequently to take part in classes.

“Agy is a huge fan of The Inbetweeners. She heard about the movie and wanted to take part. But when it became clear she wouldn’t get a part she decided to do something about it.

“She is committed to giving her acting classes 100 per cent,” the source added. (ANI)
