Producers behind hit TV show GLEE have dismissed reports they were denied permission to use songs by the KINGS OF LEON for a special episode, insisting they have never expressed interest in showcasing the band’s music.

Bassist Jared Followill recently claimed the rockers had been approached to feature their hits on the popular all-singing-all-dancing series, following in the footsteps of Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Followill alleged the band had rejected the request, saying, “We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly.”

But Glee’s co-creator Ian Brennan is baffled by the rocker’s remarks - because they’ve never tried to contact the Sex On Fire hitmakers.

He says, “The Kings Of Leon thing I didn’t really understand because we didn’t approach them. I don’t know where that came from.

“I would say probably 80 per cent of the people who you heard are going to be on Glee is probably news to us.”
